Chief Anderson started his volunteer Fire Service career in 1959 at the age of 16, with 50 of those years with the Reedsport Volunteer Fire Department (since 1972). He has served as a firefighter, engineer, Assistant Chief, and was selected as Fire Chief in 2001.
Over the years he has accumulated more than 1000 hours of career development training and has an extensive record of certifications pertaining to Fire Service.
Chief Anderson brings with him a progressive style of management experience producing a a high level of training standards and operational proficiency.
He oversees an all-volunteer department of up to 41 volunteers and is responsible for a yearly budget of more than $100,000.
