The Urban Renewal Advisory Committee was established in 2007 as required by state statutes during formation of an urban renewal district. Applicants are appointed by the Urban Renewal District Agency from within the Lower Umpqua Hospital District to four year terms. The duties of the board are to act in an advisory capacity to the Reedsport Urban Renewal District Agency, to act as advocates for promoting and developing the Urban Renewal District and to assist in the preparation of the annual budget. This board meets approximately five times a year at a time determined by the Committee.

- Requirements – five members residents at large of Douglas County within the Lower Umpqua Hospital District; one member of the Lower Umpqua Hospital taxing district; and one member of the Port of Umpqua.
