Ballot Title: Bans the establishment of psilocybin-related businesses

Question: Should electors ban the establishment of psilocybin-related businesses within the City of Reedsport?

Reedsport voters enacted a temporary two-year ban on psilocybin-related businesses in November 2022.  In November of 2024, Reedsport passed Ordinance 2024-1215 to permanently ban psilocybin-related businesses in the city.  Oregon state law ORS 475A.718 provides that a city council may adopt an ordinance to be referred to the electors of the city prohibiting the establishment of state licensed psilocybin product manufacturers and/or psilocybin service centers in the city at the next regularly scheduled general election.
The City Council believes that a permanent ban on psilocybin product manufacturers and psilocybin service centers within the city's jurisdictional boundaries is needed in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of its citizens.

A "Yes" vote will establish a ban on the establishment of psilocybin-related businesses within Reedsport.

A "No" vote will allow the establishment of psilocybin-related businesses to operate within Reedsport.
